Possibly, an Attempt at Clip Making

It’s one of those phase again, I am suffering from a writer’s block; none of the sentences and words I write sounds good to me, thus to make up for it, I explored my laptop some more. I haven’t completely gotten around it and I figured “why not now?” The first thing that came to mind is to make a video clip. I wanted to try clip making for quite some time now; I checked the app store and found an app with good reviews. Here’s what I made using the app that I downloaded:

The quality is not that good, apparently you have to purchase the app to be able to utilize it fully but what the heck, I’ll think about it. I know the song is somehow off for the slide show but it’s been playing in my head since 7pm and I can’t brush it off, the same goes with the person on the slide but hey, this is an experiment and the materials are already there so I just rolled with it. I guess this won’t be the last.

Bride of the Century Ep 2

So far so good, things are about to get interesting with the disappearance of Yi-kyung and Doo-rim replacing her. It’s the good old switcheroo and here’s hoping that it makes an unforgettable impact to everyone and I mean every one especially the cynical and snobbish Kang-joo, or is he really cynical and snobbish? Hmmm.

Mood Setter: Broken Sonnet by Hale [audio http://a.tumblr.com/tumblr_kto5n8fE4W1qa2w7lo1.mp3]

The show left off with Yi-Hyun telling Doo-rim that he needs her to be the fiancee of Choi Kang-joo, the heir of Taeyang Goup. Seen driving to Yi-kyung’s house is Yi-hyun and Doo-rim, and judging by the bag she is carrying with her, Doo-rim has agreed to the proposed arrangement by Yi-hyun. Once inside, they were greeted by a very much surprised looking Yi-kyung’s mom. Doo-rim introduced herself and the mom voiced out that she didn’t expect that Yi-kyung and Doo-rim was “that” much alike. You tell me, you should know better, you’re supposed to be the mother. She didn’t say much more than Doo-rim must be tired, she should rest. Once Doo-rim and Yi-hyun left, she said something like she still feels it’s gonna be troublesome, although they look alike, Doo-rim seems tacky.

Upstairs, Yi-hyun shows the room that Doo-rim is to use while she stays with them. He gives direction to where bathroom is and tells her to rest and let him know if she needs anything. She says good night; once Yi-hyun left, she let out a sigh and checked out her temporary room.

In the living room, Yi-hyun and mom are having a talk. Mom says she hasn’t seen anything like what she’s seeing now. She begins to ask Yi-hyun if his father maybe did something but before she can finish her sentence, Yi-hyun said that it’s not possible, he has looked into Doo-rim’s family background, she has nothing to do with their family. Mom then admitted that she didn’t think it was possible either; it’s just that they look so similar that she can’t resist saying it. Yi-hyun, sounding wise said that there are many unexplainable things in the world. Mom didn’t argue anymore since it is to their advantage anyway.

Doo-rim is coming out of the bathroom and seen on her face is the curious cat look. She looks left and right and wandered to Yi-kyung’s room. She’s amazed at the princess like room; she saw the huge photo of Yi-kyung and as she looks closely she said they are similar but completely different. She looks around further, getting the vibe that it’s like a makeup store, she mistaken a glass containing cotton balls as cotton candy and tried to eat one and chocked on it; at the same time Yi-hyun enters the room, he was somehow angered. He told Doo-rim not to enter Yi-kyung’s room and not to touch her things without permission. Doo-rim apologized and said she’s going to be careful moving forward.

The next day, Doo-rim is having a salon makeover in preparation to posing as Yi-kyung. She takes off her bracelet, as she was stepped out of the elevator; she got a call from Yi-hyun asking if she’s done. Unknown to her, the bracelet dropped on the floor when she took the call. She was about to go out to the lobby when a group of woman walks in passing her like she’s not there. In the process, the bracelet was kicked under the classy Christmas Tree and out of sight. She grumbled about how the women acted, she put her hand in her pocket and realized that her lucky “charmed bracelet” is missing. She goes back to the salon thinking she must have left it there.

At the lobby Kang-joo enters, assistant in tow. He sees Yi-hyun and they greeted each other. Yi-hyun asked what brings him in the premises, turns out there’s a photo shoot for their family owned mall at the studio located in the building where the salon is, he was passing by and thought to have a look. Yi-hyun said that he is meeting a vendor. Kang-joo then excused himself since he thinks Yi-hyun is busy – they can talk some more at the upcoming dinner. Worried, Yi-hyun calls Doo-rim.

Doo-rim on the other hand is getting on thr elevator to go back to the salon for her bracelet, at the same time Kang-joo walks in. They almost saw each other thankfully the elevator door closed. While this is happening, I’m trying so hard not to bite my nails, she’s gonna be caught, she’s gonna be caught, oh nos! At the lobby Yi-hyun is pacing in panic, I know he’s thinking what I am thinking of plus Doo-rim is not answering his call.

As Kang-joo is waiting for the elevator, queue spooky background music and lo, the tree is shaking! The bracelet is crawling inch by inch until it reached his shoes. Is it attracted to him too? I know I am. He picks it up, examines it for a bit then hanged it on the tree. The elevator pinged opened Doo-rim walks out of one as Kang-joo hopped on the other. THEY. DIDN’T. SEE. EACH. OTHER. AGAIN! Well I am not worried anymore, they both have poor eyesight like me or they don’t pay much attention to their surroundings. Doo-rim is still wondering where the bracelet could be. She turns and smiled as she found it hanging on the tree. She even praised and thanked whoever hanged it in there for having sense.

She was on her way out and almost run over to a worried Yi-hyun. He snaps at her for not answering her phone then asked if she ran into Kang-joo. She said no and apologizes for keeping him waiting. She said that she was looking for her lucky charmed bracelet; she also mentioned what happened when she took it off – she lost her money and grandma was hospitalized. When she put it back on she met him, was able to pay for grandma’s surgery, basically it turned her life around in a good way and that makes the bracelet important. Yi-hyun looks around and suggested they get out of the place.

At home, she starts training in preparation for dinner, glasses first and honestly, I’m with her; it’s confusing. Can we just drink from a mug please, thank you! Yi-hyun the drill master says she needs to practice to not make any mistakes. He then shows the pictures of the Choi family starting from dad, mom and when he reached to introducing Kang-joo’s brother, she said she knows who Choi Kang-in is. She said everything she know about him and ended with “I am a Monster fan.” I love the fangirl in her. She asked if Kang-in is going to be at the dinner, completely looking forward to seeing her idol completely keeping Yi-hyun off track. He’s probably thinking she’s weird; she then noticed the man next to Kang-in and asked if it is Kang-joo. Yi-hyun said that only immediate family members would be present on that dinner thus she only needs to remember the faces he showed her. He also said to speak less and only when asked a question, she should also smile lightly; how does one smile lightly? Isn’t that called smirking? She asked him to speak casually with her so as not to give away anything at the dinner which he agreed to.

On to dinner, Yi-kyung’s mom, Yi-hyun and Doo-rim make their way to the place of reservation; I can almost feel how nervous Doo-rim is. Yi-hyun asked her to relax and do as they practiced. As they continue to walk to the dinner area, Doo-rim asked for a time out, I mean to go to the washroom.

As she was about to straighten herself, she saw the woman who ran away with her money humming to herself while putting on lipstick. Of course she confronts her and when the woman realized who she was she ran away, Doo-rim ran after her.

Meanwhile, Yi-kyung’s mom and Yi-hyun steps into the reservation area and was surprised to see the Choi family already there. Daddy Choi says they just got there. Mommy Choi looked for Yi-kyung and Yi-kyung’s mom mentioned that she came with them but.. Okay so everybody is perplexed about the situation. She asked Yi-hyun to get Doo-rim but Kang-joo volunteered to do it himself.

Outside, Doo-rim is running after the woman, yelling like a mad woman should. Kang-joo sees her and even shook his head. He continued walking in another direction when he stopped, I guess he’s thinking isn’t that Yi-kyung?

On the other hand, Doo-rim and the woman are still in “catch me if you can” mode with Doo-rim screaming like there’s no tomorrow. She managed to catch her; she sits on one of the couches at the lobby checking the woman’s purse to take her wallet while the woman asked to be forgiven – Kang-joo is making his way towards them. Doo-rim still doesn’t have any clue that she’s about to be in trouble, she’s still fuming that even the praises from woman is not helping at all.

Kang-joo is just a few steps away, oh em! Oh em! Luckily Kang-in called him, calling Doo-rim’s attention too. Kang-in wants to ask his Hyung to reconsider the contract for their band as the mall model. Doo-rim then realized who was having a conversation a few steps away for them, she anxiously ordered the woman to go; to the woman’s disbelief. She threatened to kill her if she doesn’t leave quickly thus the lady happily ran away from danger just in time as the Choi brothers finished talking. As Kang-in makes his way inside, Kang-joo walks towards a shaken Doo-rim; as expected pretty boy high and mighty mentions about her going MIA on his inauguration ceremony. He also asked if she did the math and realized the score that’s why she’s back. She carefully apologized for worrying him. He coolly said that he was not worried, it was her mother and bother that was worried that they might break up. He asked about the person she was with which she nervously denied. Seeing that she’s not getting up he asked if she’s not going inside, and she somehow snapped out of it and said she’s coming.

In a creepy corridor; seriously expecting the ghost to pop out any minute soon, Kang-joo stops walking to lay down the rules; she is not to disappear and act out again. If she can’t handle her role, she can walk away now, there are plenty of people who’re willing to be on her shoes. Cold! Doo-rim got the grasp of what type of person Kang-joo is, she thinks he’s self-absorbed, the way he talks is emotionally detached and to help her sum it up let me say, he’s an ass. Kang-joo wants her to decide on what she wants to do; it’s her last chance to break the engagement off. She brushed it off with saying that their parents are waiting, they should go in. She makes her way in but tripped when she walked pass brushing his shoulder. Kang-joo is not a complete ass after all because as she falls, he caught her. Erhm, there was a bit of a pleasant accident though at least for me it’s pleasant; they happen to kiss as he hold her to keep her from falling and she grabs on his tie for support. When they realized what happened, they got into an argument that goes like “it’s your fault, you did it, you should have avoided it, and you did it on purpose” it was cute, completely hilarious and was settled by “let’s talk about it later.” I actually don’t care who is to blame, I wanna see this pair kiss again, with feelings if possible.

At dinner, Doo-rim is completely annoyed that Kang-joo is ignoring her, she’s also pissed that she lost her chance to reclaim her money from the woman because of him. Her phone rings, her ringtone is a song off the Monster’s first album as noticed by the band’s leader – Kang-in. He also asked if Doo-rim likes pop songs because he was thinking she as Yi-kyung only like classical music being a piano major. Doo-rim lets it slip that she’s a fan. She was then invited to the Monster comeback showcase which she happily accepted. He was very happy because none of his family members knows about his songs. When Kang-joo’s mom mentioned she didn’t have any idea that she was a fan of her youngest son, she somehow came back to her senses and came up with a good excuse to the approval of Daddy Choi.

A dish was served, she was at a lost as to what utensil to use; luckily Yi-hyun noticed so he picked up his own utensils and Doo-rim copied it. She liked the dish thus she ate heartily and Daddy Choi noticed. He was happy to see that she’s not picky. He even mentioned that he doesn’t like how ladies pick on their food. She was about to say that she eats anything but Kang-joo butted in that she doesn’t eat fish, and she almost let slip that she eats sushi. At that moment, Yi-hyun stopped her and Yi-kyung’s mom mentioned that her daughter got sick when she ate sushi when she was younger thus she avoided the food, but she eats anything else.

Dad is in a hurry for the wedding to take place, he’s quite envious of his friends who already have grandchildren, and he wants to hold one in his arms soon. Yi-kyung’s mom said it’s not a problem for them but Kang-joo just started working and he must be quite busy. Mommy Choi said something like “so what, we can prepare the wedding.” She said she and Yi-kyung’s mom will meet to plan everything accordingly much to the uneasiness of Yi-kyung’s mom.

After the dinner, the parents and brothers decided to leave first to let the “couple” spend some more time to themselves. Well they did spend some time, some time to bicker cutely about the kiss. Harhar. I can feel that something is changing with Kang-joo somehow although he opted to leave first, it’s like he’s starting to be curious about her already. As Doo-rim finished talking to herself in public, President Kaneko approached and greeted her, she said the necklace looks good on her. Doo-rim not knowing how to speak in Japanese panicked; thankfully, Yi-hyun stayed behind and saved the day.

At Yi-hyun’s car, he admits that he got was nervous for her that’s why he stayed behind, it was a close call. Doo-rim admitted to having made a lot of mistakes but Yi-hyun is only relieved that she was not caught. Doo-rim then let a piece of her mind and maybe a ton of feelings regarding the situation. She understands his sister, why she ran because of the attitude of her husband to be. She even capped it with “so this is what an arranged marriage in a drama is like.” After saying that she realized who she’s with and apologized. She didn’t had the chance to finish her explanation because Yi-hyun points that what she said was true thus she doesn’t have to feel bad.

At the Jang’s residence, specifically in Doo-rim’s “room” she’s checking the wallet of the woman who ran away with their money. Apparently she’s living a semi charmed life now. She’s still fuming for not catching her all because of Kang-joo plus he even got to kiss her lips that she has been protecting for 25 years. That long? Oh… Well.. Downstairs, the Jangs are talking about the event of the day, Mommy Jang admitted to be nervous while Yi-hyun said they still got through it so it’s fine. Mommy is complaining that the house is a mess since she had to let the help go. She’s distressed, “until when are they going to live like this?” Yi-hyun admitted that he thought that they’d find her right away, he underestimated things. Mommy walks out. Doo-rim overhears the conversation, by the look on her face, she’s gonna do something about their sentiments.

As expected, the morning after, the Jangs woke up to Doo-rim taking command of the kitchen. She volunteered to take care of everything on the house from cooking to doing the laundry despite the offer of Yi-kyung’s mom to hire another help. She asked them to taste the food that she prepared and they liked it, better than the help according to Yi-hyun. Yi-hyun also mentioned that they would have an extensive training after breakfast.

The first thing on the lesson is Yi-Kyung’s likes and dislikes; this is difficult for Doo-rim since she likes everything that she hates and I am guessing vice versa. As they progress, Yi-hyun noticed that Doo-rim is looking at her amazed; she mentioned what she noticed – the way he calls her sister “our Yi-kyung” with a lot of care and even knows everything she likes. She also added that if only Kang-joo cared about a quarter of the way he cared about her sister, it would have been nice. Yi-hyun then hands her Choi Kang-joo’s family tree and the list of Yi-kyung’s school friends for her to memorize. He also hand her a phone containing all the important numbers that he knows of. That moment, the phone rang – it’s Mommy Choi asking her to come down the ancestral house, the dreamy haunted house.

At the House of Choi, Doo-rim was greeted by the house help, as she makes her way to the main house, she pause to admire the place that “looks like a palace.” It turns out it’s more training, like she’s not having enough already. But this one is in preparation for “her” life as Kang-joo’s “shadow”; is that another name for being a wife nowadays? She was handed a list, the proper name I guess would be “all about Kang-joo” because it is all about his likes, dislikes, fashion brand. I wonder if there’s anything about nail art in there too. LOL. She was also given the schedule of family gatherings that a “daughter in law” is supposed to know. And living up to being a mother in law to be, Mommy Choi “warns” her that she should act accordingly and befitting of the title “wife to Kang-joo the great.” She promised to do her best so as not to disappoint her. She ordered to eat dinner with them and told to hang out on Kang-joo’s room.

As usual, Doo-rim is on curious cat mode; she checked out the room that according to her is as big as a gym. She was wowed by the fencing gear; she took the sword and played with it and did a “nestea” on the bed landing on the remote of the sound system. It played a classic music, the kind that often used when trouble is approaching and it is. Queue Kang-joo holding the remote; he turns the music off and removes the head gear off Doo-rim’s.  He gives her a scolding, no wait, a nagging; anyways, he insinuated that she is playing games, pretend games. He goes to change his clothes with Doo-rim still in the room. I smell something fishy. He gets a phone call and signals Doo-rim to hand him his phone.

After his phone conversation, he nags Doo-rim some more, at this point, Doo-rim told him to get changed, she’ll go downstairs. As she makes her way to the door, Kang-joo blocks him and backed her on the wall, his hand pressed on her throat. He was on “asshole” mode quoting what Yi-kyung said that she wants to know him better. He asked if she’s not interested to know his body. Oooh, this early, okay, give it to me! Harhar.

He leans in for a kiss that didn’t happen because Doo-rim pushed him so hard his back hit the door. She pulls up fists threatening him that he’s gonna pay dearly if he ever lay a finger on her body. She came to her senses when Kang-joo asked “what this?” She came up with a perfect explanation that she wants to preserve traditions and ended it with something like “don’t even think about it.” She made a big sigh of relief once she got out of his room, she called him a pervert.

At home, she’s reviewing the list of gatherings; the upcoming one is for the death anniversary of Kang-joo’s grandfather, the founder of Taeyang Group. Yi-hyun mentioned that it’s the largest gathering of the year to be attended by the entire extended family and company executives. He also mentioned that it is expected that the future daughter in law attends as well. She finally lost it, saying that it’s too much, their deal is only dinner now there’s a death anniversary, gatherings and events too! How is she supposed to attend on all of those occasions? Yi-hyun persuade her with talks of helping her open a store under her name, worked like magic, he got her to agree, she even bragged that she can do well because she organized the memorials for her parents thus she knows the feeling.

At the gathering, she is to greet the elders – great uncle and aunt Choi; she couldn’t do it right away because one of them, great aunt Choi is busy playing with her phone. In the end, Daddy Choi took the phone; Doo-rim was about to give a proper greeting when great aunt Choi started shouting that she’s not Kang-joos fiancee. She ordered her to be gone, and she was escorted outside before great aunt Choi really lose it. Outside, she runs into Roo-mi, the little bitch. She let lose her venomous tongue but Doo-rim can’t remember who she is thus she didn’t have much reaction. She was sort of saved by Mommy Choi, obviously pleased to see Roo-mi. They chatted sweetly and Mommy Choi invited her for tea.

Once Roo-mi was inside, Doo-rim checked whatever information she has on Roo-mi, she was surprised to find out that she was Yi-kyung’s best friend especially she talks harshly to her. At that exact moment, Kang-joo appears and asked what she is doing. They start to bicker again, he said something like don’t try too hard, just act like it, you can’t do anything useful anyways. She in turn said what she thinks every time he sees him – because of the way he manage to say the most emotionally detached things that are so cold that her heart feels like freezing over, she would rather direct all her affection to the first dog she sees then walks out leaving a dumbfounded Kang-joo.

In the kitchen, she happily helped in the preparation to the delight of the helps, they’re talking about how easy it is to get along with her when Kang-joo passed by hearing what the helps think of his fiancee. I see a small smile forming of pretty boy’s face; I knew he’s not so tough. Of course what is a gathering without gossiping and slandering, that’s quite normal. The topic is about the fate of the first wife of I am guessing Daddy Choi. Overhearing the conversation, Doo-rim joins them and asked who else died. At that moment, Mommy Choi came, like the lady of the house that she is; she scolded the helps for gossiping and warns Doo-rim about being too close to the helps for her own good.

She goes back in the house to a waiting great aunt Choi, wanting a piggy back ride from her. Mommy Choi insist that she can’t do that for her but great aunt is determined to have a piggy back ride from Doo-rim, even kicking helper Ahjussi when he volunteered to do it. Doo-rim happily gave great aunt Choi a piggy back ride, calling her grandma. As she was carrying her, great aunt Choi peed; Mommy Choi and the Ahjumma Ahn panicked while Doo-rim just happily mentioned that grandma must be relieved and offered to change her clothes. This was witnessed by a shocked Roo-mi and a now somehow melting Kang-joo, I can tell by the way he’s suppressing his smile.

In one of the rooms of the palace, I mean the House of Choi, Doo-rim finished attending to great aunt Choi, she wants to sleep and tired Doo-rim opted to nap, not before thinking of her own grandma back at their place. Seen is grandma, sadly eating her meal, thinking of how sad her Doo-rim is in a new city by herself; grandma don’t cry, she’s not as sad as you think.

Back at the House of Choi, Kang-joo is seen in the room where Doo-rim and great aunt Choi is sleeping. He watched her for a bit, probably wondering who the hell this girl is. She started snoring; making him somehow shake his head but instead, he tried shaking her awake. I think it’s becoming their thing to bicker every time they see each other, I am not complaining, it is cute. She asked what is he doing, he shouldn’t be watching her sleep it’s perverted. Of course he defended himself that he won’t be interested to watch a snoring woman sleep; he just wanted to wake her because the memorial is starting. That got her embarrassed, she said she was tired; he didn’t want to listen, he just wants her to come out.

Doo-rim is helping to clear the things used for the memorial, when the lights started to blink then switched off. She lights a match when out of nowhere, Kang-joo appears, scaring the bejesus out of her. She screams and falls down over Kang-joo’s body, scattering match sticks all over the floor and Kang-joo’s hair. As they looked at each other’s shocked faces, Roo-mi enters seeing their somehow inappropriate position. Once Kang-joo saw Roo-mi, he harshly pushed Doo-rim aside; looked at her without saying a word. The bitch walked out leaving Kang-joo who blamed Doo-rim for doing it on purpose because she knows Roo-mi was there. She depended herself saying it was his fault for appearing out of nowhere and scaring her. He won’t have any of it; he walks out leaving Doo-rim to continue with what she was doing. As she leaves the room, the family photo was shown and standing with the crowd is our resident ghost. Who is she?

At the Jangs, Yi-kyung’s mom is taking a talisman from one of Yi-kyung’s pillow; Yi-hyun sees her and asked what she’s doing in her daughter’s room. She’s being melodramatic thinking about her welfare. Yi-hyun assures her that nothing is going to happen to her daughter, don’t worry too much. She asked about Doo-rim and he reports that she called saying the memorial has ended. He sees the talisman and asked what it is. Mommy said it is supposed to help bring harmonious relationship between bride and groom though it is useless now.

Back to the House of Choi, Kang-joo and Roo-mi are having a serious talk; Roo-mi wants to know if her “oppa” is really going to marry Yi-kyung. His answer is somehow a yes because she’s the woman his parents have chosen. Roo-mi asked if it doesn’t matter who the bride is as long as his parents agreed to her; he agrees to it, it doesn’t matter. She tells him not to marry someone he doesn’t have feelings with; well, girl nobody is asking for your opinion so shush! Kang-joo is as cold as ever saying feelings and love doesn’t really exist. They are pretty close, I can see that, there’s a past that she’s talking about though I don’t have any idea about it yet, she ask him to stop keeping people out and being distant. He tells her not to overstep her boundaries. Miss Delusional says can’t she say that much when she stayed by his side for so long. Keeping up with being cold he replied with “I never asked you to.” Wow, he’s a complete jerk! Roo-mi pours what she really feels, she said something like “can’t it be me then since it doesn’t matter to you anyways, whoever you marry, so let it be me because I’ve only have eyes for you since we are little.” Sorry, that’s my interpretation. He asked her to stop it already, since she’s hurting; I wish it was that easy to do.

Not far from them, Doo-rim is watching, hiding behind a tree. As Kang-joo stands to leave, Roo-mi back hugs him saying she can’t stop, I know right and I don’t know what you’ll do too. As Kang-joo turns, he sees peeping Doo-rim and moves out of Roo-mi’s back hug, panic seen evident on his face. Doo-rim runs away looking back a few times while doing so and once she’s out of sight, Kang-joo let out a loud sigh, is that out of guilt? I knew he’s feeling something for her already. Roo-mi is in the same wavelength as I am because she pointed it out to Kang-joo “if it doesn’t matter, why the guilty expression?” good point girl; still pretty boy is holding the excuse that his family chose her so be careful not to speak lightly about her. He leaves Roo-mi to grieve her unrequited love.

As she’s far from sight now, Doo-rim now contemplates the meaning of what she saw; conclusion – Kang-joo and Roo-mi are in a relationship, she also understands now why Roo-mi treated her badly when they saw each other earlier. She wonders what will happen if he falls for her but quickly brushed it aside since once Yi-kyung comes back, it won’t matter to her anyways. She kicks an imaginary stone or something only to be distracted by our resident ghost, wearing a helper’s uniform, smiling as she floats away. She follows her to I think it’s where the family altar is. There’s a helper outside, Doo-rim asked if she saw her fellow helper just now and she answers no. Doo-rim wonders if she’s starting to see things because she definitely saw her went to that place that she decides to check out.

Queue creepy sound effects and meowing cat. As she looks for the cat, our resident ghost is behind a post opposite the entrance where Kang-joo is seen entering. Omo, what is the ghost up to now? Kang-joo is looking for Doo-rim posting to be Yi-kyung. He hears the cry of the cat and went to investigate. He sees Doo-rim, under a table that’s above a trap door. She was surprised by Kang-joo’s appearance thus she hits her head on the table. He was irritated but she’s more concerned about something else. She asked him to come closer; once he’s near, she hands him the kitten and goes back to the trap door. He’s impatient and asked why she is coming back in. She pulls out a dead cat, the kitten’s mommy. They found a shovel somewhere, and Doo-rim gestures for Kang-joo to shovel. He gives the excuse that he’s the heir of Taeyang Group but Doo-rim is not buying it. I might have said the same thing, “just shovel already!” He clearly doesn’t know how thus Doo-rim did the shoveling herself all the while mumbling that he probably didn’t do much with his hand anyways other than eat, wipe his ass and hold a pen leaving Kang-joo fuming. After giving the mommy cat a proper burial, she took the kitty from Kang-joo declaring that she’s going to be its mother then leaves ; surprising Kang-joo who I think is expecting a talk or a chance to explain – but why?

Inside the house, Daddy Choi is expressing her fondness towards Doo-rim; okay he thinks it is Yi-kyung. Mommy Choi cryptically replied with a”let’s wait and see if she really is compatible with our son.” He pointed out that she chose her herself why is she still not satisfied. He asked if she still likes Roo-mi to be the bride. She gave an excuse that marriage cannot be forced; she admitted that it’s regretful but it seems that Roo-mi is not meant to be part of their family. The talks turns to Daddy Choi’s first love; such sensitive topic that made him upset. He puts down the lovely looking tea cup forcefully when Mommy Choi mentioned that Kang-joo might also.. This is about the curse, oh, Mommy knows something it seems. Daddy Choi said it’s all nonsense; he asked her if she believes the curse and to not let the kids hear her talk about it especially with the upcoming events. He walks out, leaving Mommy Choi to open a chest containing a diary and a red shoe. Is that the same shoe from the first episode?

Meanwhile, the “bickering” cute “couple” has arrived to the House of Jang. Doo-rim has slept all the way to the disbelief of Kang-joo. She asked if they reached her “house” gaining an order to wipe the saliva off her mouth. She said she’s tired from running all day. And my guess is true, pretty boy wants to explain himself. He’s angry cause she’s acting as if she didn’t see or hear anything. He tries to explain what happened with Roo-mi but at the same time, the kitty wanted to have Doo-rim’s attention, it peed. He snapped at her asking is the kitten more important than what he has to say? He orders her to get out before the car seat is ruined. He also reminded her not be late for the TV interview for the next day. He’s totally fuming as he drives away. Doo-rim is completely oblivious to the real reason why he’s mad. Her mind is completely wrapped in the kitty; that she can’t keep because Yi-kyung is allergic to it. She gets another scolding from Yi-hyun, poor girl. She apologized for her mistakes but asked if she can keep the cat, she’s going to take it with her once Yi-kyung comes back.

The next day at the Choi’s house, Mommy Choi goes to Daddy Choi’s room but he’s not there; where could he be? Ah, there he is, under a tree; thinking of his first love. He sees an old man and bowed, who is he?

At the mall, Doo-rim is rushing; she approached Roo-mi the bitch and asked if she’s late. Putting her outfit together took some time. He asked where is Kang-joo; Roo-mi completely ignored her and walked off. Doo-rim and Kang-joo finally saw each other, he checked out her outfit and asked Doo-rim to remove her bracelet because it’s about the necklace today, it has to stand out. She doesn’t want to, she insist that she’s just going to hide it so it can’t be seen. He didn’t really agree but started walking.

On the way to the venue, the customer service girl who got fired blocked their way. She was enraged by heartless Kang-joo. She takes a tomato out of her bag and throws it at Kang-joo but Doo-rim blocked it, surprising Kang-joo and herself.

I knew it’s gonna be an awesome disaster once the switch takes place, firstly because they are extremely different from each other, Doo-rim is a drop of sunshine while Yi-kyung is an iceberg in the making and that is only in reference with their attitude, it gets to the extreme if you throw in the status in life.

Another thing that I expected is Kang-joo slowly peeling off the unfeeling facade, when he tried to explain about what Doo-rim saw, I sort of confirmed it, he’s not a cold person but a guarded person, maybe because he’s rich or something, I look forward to see him growing up.

I’m not gonna deny that this BotC is filled with cliches but they used it so well I don’t even care anymore. I’m so looking forward to the mayhem that is to come. The only thing that I can’t really brush from my head is why is the ghost haunting the Choi family? Why is it said to be killing off the first bride of the first born son? What happened to Daddy Choi’s first love? I guess I’ll have to patiently wait for answers.

Bride of the Century Ep 1

A chaebol meets and fell in love with a poor girl without knowing it, clichéd right? How about adding a ghost on top of that, do you know what you are getting? Trouble, yes, trouble because it’s going to be engaging no matter how clichéd it is. Those are the ingredients in the cooking pot labeled Bride of the Century and so far, I’m loving this mixture.

Mood Setter: Stay by Cueshe [audio http://www.gimiklive.com/pidoy/MP3/Cueshe/Cueshe%20-%20Stay.mp3]

The show opens with a group of gossiping women peeping on walls made out of paper, there’s another disadvantage of walls made of paper, one should really think plenty of times when deciding to build a house; just kidding. Anyways, they are each saying how pitiful the girl is and that she won’t even survive her first night. That’s the moment that the curse that false to the first bride of the first son of the family was mentioned. Inside the room, the groom is also talking about the same thing although by the way he’s talking; it shows that he doesn’t believe such thing. Ohhhhh, it’s ‘the haunting’ thingy and the ghost is supposedly the ‘owner’ of the ‘house’ though I can’t really say if all those were true, you know, tongue in cheek, “rumors has it.”

Then enters Lady Choi, well I guess she is also Lady Choi here like on her old days as a “Mugakshi” though not quite as bad ass. She gives instruction that no one is to disturb the newly wed. Queue weird noises, gushing winds, in short, scary sound effects, yes, yes, it is predictable but I am falling for it. The groom is seen fainting, the lights turning into Christmas lights cut to the bride running in the woods or something like that while the groom organize a search party and finally, the silhouette of a lady with long black hair in long flowing black dress. She chases the helpless and frightened bride to a cliff and a screamed was heard, the next thing seen is a shoe on the edge of the cliff.

Move on to present day, to a seafood diver hauling her catch of the day, she have a good haul by the smile plastered on her cute face. As she sits by the shore she sees a red coat, a pair of red shoes and its owner, a woman who jumped off the cliff. She dives in to save her and as she swims to take her to safety queue scary sound effects; the woman in white was briefly shown to be in a black flowing dress, oh nos, it’s the ghost not of girlfriends past but the ghost from a long time ago. She’s somehow taken a back but managed to take the woman to the shore.

As she was about to give her CPR, the woman started breathing again and even complained that she took so long to save her. What an interesting ghost we have here. Apparently she’s broken hearted because her lover loved someone else – cheated of her, despite of his promise to love only her for the rest of his life. She called the diver who saved her a girl with a grade school kid’s body; which is far from the thanks that she was expecting. Unexpectedly for two people meeting each other for the first time, they had a conversation about love, and they each have a good point about it I must admit, it was quite entertaining. The woman, now draped in a red coat gave her ‘savior’ her bracelet saying that it’s all she has, that it’s a lucky charm that brings love and that she, the diver is not to take it for granted because it is going to change her life. The woman then disappeared with her red shoes that are hot off the shelf not after she gave her a word of encouragement: “fighting!” leaving Doo-rim – that’s what grandma called her; dumbfounded.

Grandma and Doo-rim owns a seafood restaurant by the sea, Doo-rim goes to deliver somewhere I’m guessing the construction site in the vicinity. The said site is facing some decline and an inevitable halt because the payment of the workers is not on time and they are resisting, well I would too if I was in their shoes. The gentleman whom the ‘site supervisor’ is reporting relayed that they should be receiving funds from Taeyang Group in the near future; thus he asked for them to bear with the company until that time.

He receives a call from Yi-kyung oh wait, she looks uncannily like Doo-rim. She’s on her way to the airport and by her response to her brother it is certain that she’s meeting an important person thus the need for not making mistakes.

Seen driving her scoter is Doo-rim, on delivery duty. ‘Oppa’ is still on the phone apparently worrying because it has been a while since her sister has seen the person she’s meeting. He asked her to make the meeting a little less awkward. As Doo-rim gets off her scoter, she saw some bricks falling directly on helmetless gentleman. She ran, pushed him aside thus the bricks landed and broke on her helmeted head. The gentleman was stunned at the wonder girl who saved her but mostly because she looks like her sister. They asked each other if they are okay all the while he has this look of disbelief on his face. He got to ask if she needs to go to the hospital once he somehow came to his senses but she says she’s fine, she has extensive martial arts training; hearing that he gave his card with an assuring “if anything is wrong, you can reach me at this number.”

As Doo-rim runs to hand out her delivery, he got a call from his sister, he relayed what happened, that he saw someone that looks like her. She asked if there’s a secret to her birth that she’s not aware of like does she have a twin sister separated from her as a baby. I’ve seen that story before; a typical melo. She was assured that he is okay and he is coming home early. He was approached and asked to eat lunch at a restaurant but he opted to eat with the workers; it turned out to be a good thing, it brought him closer to his employees.

At the airport the reporters are gathered awaiting the arrival of a very handsome guy that is an understatement; let me wipe my drool… Done! He stops in front of Yi-kyung and she hands him a bouquet as a sign of welcoming him back. He is Kang-joo and he is one cold good looking bad ass that came home after studying abroad and apparently he’s displeased about the ruckus about his coming home.

As they drive somewhere he asked his Roo-mi about something he had instructed her, she hands him a box that he gave to Yi-kyung. Inside it is a necklace that he wants him to wear. They end up in I assume a Japanese restaurant. She’s just eating salad because she doesn’t eat sushi which Kang-joo is unaware of. She says the Salmon salad is good enough, salmon and caviar is edible to her. She asked what his likes and dislikes are. She also expressed that she can really feel that they are engaged now since they are eating together and he even gave her a gift thus she wants them to get to know each other better. Kang-joo opted to be a royal ass by asking if she didn’t see the list that his mom has prepared, they don’t need to waste time getting to know each other. Taken a back she asked if he isn’t tired, he should have went home since he just arrived and his parents are probably waiting for him. At that precise time, she found out the true reason why he invited her for lunch – to close a deal with President Kaneko, the president of JR Group. She also understand why he gave the necklace – Eternal Love, it was designed by President Kaneko’s deceased husband. The moment she saw it and upon learning that he proposed to Yi-kyung with it, like her deceased husband, she cancelled her previous appointment and signed with Kang-joo’s company.

Yi-kyung was outraged knowing that she was used like a puppet which he agreed, she is his puppet. Since their marriage is a business deal and not out of love. Weirdly, even if he’s behaving like an ass I can’t help but swoon a bit, Lee Hong-ki is adorable but he looks good enough to eat as Kang-joo. He walks out with his staffs, leaving her to brood and walk in another direction only to be stopped by Kan-joo’s brother – Kang-in with girlfriend Leann in tow. She tells him she had lunch with his brother who just got back. She leaves the pair treating them coldly.

Kang-joo does a company inspection, staffs in tow. First, he axed the idol group as image models of the company; next he fired the customer service staff for smoking, that’s a busy work day for someone who just got back home I say. At Yi-kyung’s house, Yi-kyung’s mom is having a fit because of her daughter getting all worked up for being treated like a puppet. She orders her to hold it in even if she feels wronged. She says that their company is in money trouble, investors had all withdrawn and Taeyang Group is their last hope for the company not to shut down. My, it is indeed a business deal kind of wedding; all of their hopes are invested on this one too.

Knag-joo finally reached home; one of those historic homes, so beautiful. He’s all smiles as he greets the house help who are excited to see him home. He sits down for tea with his parents and let me just say that I love the tea set, it looks so elegant and all, I suddenly have this urge to buy one. Back to the family afternoon tea party, his dad praised him for closing the deal with JR Group. As it should, his mom doesn’t see him working right away as a good thing while his dad imparted wise words, keys to success. The talk then shifted to his brother, obviously the family’s ‘black sheep’. He hasn’t called, his phone is turned off, and it could be he hasn’t been home in a while too. Kang-joo assures his parents that his brother would go home in his own accord one day.

At Yi-kyung’s house, there’s another tea party going own. The talk is about the construction site, has the issue been resolved and all that. Oppa – Yi-hyun asked if her sister’s airport encounter went well. Instead of going to the details, she asked about the girl that look likes her, how much they resemble. Shift to the county side, Doo-rim took off the “lucky bracelet” calling it a piece of crap, I have a bad feeling she shouldn’t have done that. She goes to sleep beside her grandma, the bracelet seen on top of the table, I can feel trouble a-brewing.

At Kang-joo’s house, Kang-joo lights a candle. He’s in front of an altar having a flashback of his young self, knocking from inside a locked room; another mysterious thing, why was he locked and why is he all dirty?  On his way out, he meets the house help. She was surprised that he’s not yet asleep; he should be tired because he just got back. He bid the help good night and walks away. Additional mystery: the house help noticed that he goes to that altar the moment he gets home, what’s with that?

Somewhere near the sea, Doo-rim is doing an awesome job at sales talking to some Monster fanatics. They ordered everything that she recommended and even gave 30% discount, yeah! She then goes to give her lodge money; I’m guessing it’s a cooperative thingy where each members take turns in receiving money, something like that. The shop owner, who is also in charge of keeping the “members” money, gave her some cosmetics, I get this feeling that she’s up to no good; it’s just a feeling. I’ll wait and see.

At Yi-kyung’s house, her room specifically, Yi-kyung is still stewing, she checks her phone, there’s this message. She takes a deep breath and wonder aloud how important is Choi Kang-joo to have the right to treat her badly. Mom checks on her, she doesn’t looks so good, what is troubling her? The scene fades to reveal an old spectacled guy seeing a client off; once she disappeared, he ran inside the “temple” to rest. I figure he’s a psychic, he feels the disturbance and the ghost appeared as he opens his eyes, the same one from the beginning and at the beach and she is gliding down on him and stopped once they are face to face. She went down to business saying she’s out of time. A woman is to come once she leaves and he is to reveal everything to her, let her know everything she wants. What a bossy scary ghost!

True enough, a woman came – Yi-kyung’s mom; she mentioned of her daughter’s upcoming wedding, the psychic assumes that she wants to know about the future of the bride and groom. He asked for their date of birth so she hands him an envelope not with the date of birth but with money. She said she knows that he takes care of Taeyang Group family using the lunar and solar cycle. What is the significance of this meeting?

By the sea side, Doo-rim is selling coffee and cup ramen.  She meets the customers from the restaurant earlier. The girls are talking about how hot Choi Kang-joo is while Doo-rim doesn’t have the slightest idea who he is. They gave her the details and as they were doing so, one of the girls noticed that she looks like someone, like Kang-joo’s fiancée. They were interrupted by customers who ordered coffees but wouldn’t pay. A bad idea as they ended beaten up by Doo-rim to the cheering of the passers by.

At home, she finds that most of the bills increased. As she counts her earning, she wished that she could earn as much as she earned that night again. Grandma brings snacks, Doo-rim’s favorite sweet potato, they ate it with kimchee and let me just say that scenes like this always warms my heart, it reminds me of those days with my own grandma, may she rest in peace.  She mentioned that once she gets her lodge money, she will take grandma to the hospital for a checkup, but grandma won’t budge. She recollects that she got sick when Doo-rim’s parents died and she won’t be going to any hospital until they come back. Doo-rim, feeling grandma’s sadness cheered her up with promises of good life once she makes lots of money; she says grandma has to live long to enjoy everything. They closely watch grandma’s favorite drama on their beat up tv.

The next day, my fear about the shop owner who’s in charge of collecting the cooperative’s money materialized, she ran away taking Doo-rim’s hard earned money with her. Everyone is distressed. Doo-rim drives off to the bus station but Bong Sook is nowhere to be found. She walks lifelessly, hopeless because of what happened. When she reached home, she sees grandma passed out on the floor.

At the hospital, the doctor says that grandma needs surgery as soon as possible. Poor hardworking Doo-rim, how wronged you must be feeling, how desperate you must be. Grandma wakes up, having the same sentiments that I have, she promised that she will find that woman once she gets out of the hospital but Doo-rim insist that she can earn the money again, all she need is for grandma to be healthy so grandma should rest, she is such a sweet grandchild.

At the Choi house, Daddy Choi is playing a classic sad song, seen on the table is a picture of a woman in a wedding dress, who could she be? Outside, Mommy Choi sees Daddy Choi; she tells Daddy Choi that she knows he doesn’t want to live in this house but it’s his mother’s last wish for them to stay there. And revelation, the woman in the picture is Daddy Choi’s first love and I can sense that Mommy Choi is jealous of her; does it make sense that you are jealous of a dead person?  Hmmm. She says if he wants to get rid of the house, he should start with the picture first.

At Kang-joo’s office, one of his assistants reminds him that it’s already late; Mr. Workaholic seems to not mind staying at the office, he sends him home. In a restaurant somewhere, Yi-kyung’s ‘friends’ are admiring the necklace that Kang-joo gave her. Roo-mi says it’s as expensive as an apartment in Gangnam, but it’s just natural for the future daughter in law of Taeyang Group to receive something like it. There’s this air of animosity between Yi-Kyung and Roo-mi; I am guessing, Roo-mi is in love with Kang-joo, its clichéd and predictable but who says that premise can’t be reused. They irritate one another and Roo-mi went as far as telling Yi-kyung that her perseverance is unbelievable in a very insulting way.

In the bathroom, Yi-kyung goes head to head with Roo-mi asking why she was chosen and not her. Turns out Roo-mi is the daughter of the Attorney General who investigated Taeyang Group’s money laundering case a year ago not to mention Yi-kyung parents wanted her to marry into Taeyang Group though that’s not enough reason for Roo-mi to give up. She grew up with Kang-joo and plans to stick around like gum in a shoe; she warns Yi-kyung to be careful because she might take her place. Yi-kyung is not the least shaken, she plans to do everything for the wedding to take place because their company’s future depends on it, she won’t let the opportunity pass her by. They insult each other some more, Roo-mi riled her for being a true to form puppet. She walks out with the last words; a reminder that she has to attend Kang-joo’s officially joining the company party.

Day of the party, Yi-kyung is dolling up, she’s remembering the time when Kang-joo called her his puppet and her mom’s words that the marriage need to work out for their sake. I can tell the wheels on her head are turning and I don’t think she’s up to something good.

At the party, a little boy hands a note and a box to Yi-hyun; he asked the boy “where is the noona who gave the box” the boy mentioned that she left. He panicky makes his way to Yi-kyung’s mom handing the box and the note. It’s from Yi-kyung, asking for some time to think; she’s returning the necklace “to hold on to her last bit of pride.” Right after they finished checking the note and the box the Choi family approached. Daddy Choi says he doesn’t see Yi-kyung, Yi-kyung’s mom came up with some excuse though I don’t have any idea what it was, I wasn’t shown.

From the party, the scene shifted to Yi-kyung’s house, mom desperately calls out to what seems to be an empty house. They go to her room and found it empty. She breaks down agonizing “what would happen to her Yi-kyung?” Yi-hyun comforts her saying he will find her, he will make sure that she is found.

Kang-joo’s mom calls Yi-kyung’s mom showing pictures of Yi-kyung taken by paparazzi. Ah, so the excuse was a case of appendicitis, too bad it was thwarted by the paparazzi. It was not published; thankfully, Taeyang Group cleans up “nicely” though Kang-joo’s mom gave an ultimatum – a family dinner to be attended by both parties and if Yi-kyung fails to attend, they would have no choice but to reconsider the marriage.

At her office, Yi-kyung’s mom is having a fit; the detective doesn’t have any news of Yi-kyung’s whereabouts and the dinner is right in front of their noses; breaking the engagement is not an option due to the current state of their company, a complete chaos is about to break if Yi-kyung is not found. Yi-hyun mentioned that what they need is to get pass the dinner date that was set, they can buy some time if ever.

At Doo-rim’s house, she is currently on the phone with a money lending agent, she’s annoyed that she needs to make a down payment when she is trying to borrow money, well I agree, that doesn’t make any sense. She remembers that grandma is waiting for her; she grabs what she can and rushed out of the house.

Yi-hyun drove to Grandma and Doo-rim’s restaurant; he was told that the restaurant is closed for the day. Cut to Doo-rim checking what I am guessing to be lottery numbers; she didn’t win. She puts her hand on her pocket and the bracelet fell down; she recalled the words that the woman she saved said that the bracelet is a lucky charm. She puts it on saying she’s gonna give the lottery one more try. She checks her money and found the card that Yi-hyun gave her.

Flashback to Yi-hyun saying if something goes wrong to give him a call; after having a few minutes of argument with herself, she decided to give him a call. At that exact moment, Yi-hyun sees her, she lies trough her teeth saying she’s in serious pain because of the accident only to panic when he said he is coming like right now. The girl is a terrible liar. Yi-hyun approached her asking if they can talk.

As they sit in a park somewhere, he asked if she can put her hair up, Doo-rim shaken up insist that the injury is internal. Yi-hyun having not much time stands up and put her hair up. He can’t believe how much Doo-rim resembles her “missing” sister. Doo-rim thinking that she’s been caught lying comes clean that she needs money because something came up, she even apologized. Instead of making a fuzz, Yi-hyun said that he needs her to be the fiancée of Taeyang Group’s Choi Kang-joo to Doo-rim’s surprise.

At Taeyang Group’s mall, Kang-joo and staffs are seen entering and employees are bowing in respect, he passed by a woman, wait, isn’t that our resident ghost? He somehow sensed it and he turned around but Miss Ghost is gone, in her place is a mall’s employee.

This is unexpectedly entertaining. It’s nice to see Lee Hong-ki stepping out of the box, you know being an adorable cute cutie to a hawt one, well in my opinion that is. So far I am very much intrigued, I have so many questions that I want to be answered like who is this ghost, why is she killing the first bride, is Yi-kyung and Doo-rim twins or something, why do they look alike, what’s the issue with Daddy Choi why did Yi-kyung left and so on. Another thing I am curious about is the bracelet that brings love, if the ghost that gave it to her takes the life of the first brides, is it some sort of talisman thingy much like Queen In-hyun’s Man? Hmmm.

Also, I can’t help but love the contrast in character of Yi-kyung and Doo-rim; seeing that Doo-rim is about to step on Yi-kyung’s place, I can’t help but wonder what’s going to happen and how it is going to affect Kang-joo and everyone around her in general. It’s going to be so fun.

Roo-mi successfully irritated me as she should, although I do hope that she gets over her unrequited love for her own good, life is too short to be too clingy to a guy that doesn’t notice you at all, it’s another thing if you know that he also has the hots for you but in her case, I don’t see any sparkle, or I refuse to see any.

So far I am entertained, and I hope it continues to entertain me.

K Watching and More

Mood Setter: Compass By FT Island [audio]

I haven’t been writing anything about what I have been watching lately because of my schedule and because my laptop has given up on me. That’s the sad truth; my beloved laptop that has been with me for the past 5 years has finally broken down. Luckily, I was able to buy its replacement, I named it Agent O because its color is orange, makes sense doesn’t it? Right, so what have I been watching?

Today, as a test run, I watched We Got Married Global Edition – Lee Hong Ki and Fujii Mina; surprisingly, I finished their whole stint and squeed to my heart’s content. They are so cute and Hong Ki is adorable as ever. Well, I have openly admitting that I adore Hong Ki, I’ve written several post about him already and I know it’s gonna accumulate some more what with me being into his currently airing drama Bride of the Century. It’s fun so far and one of these days I’ll be starting my musing for every episode (I finished programming my “baby” today, test runs are done and I am good to go) and what I can say is, its jjang!

Another on my watch list is I Miss You; I finished two episodes so far and Yeo Jin-goo, that kid is proving to be a noona killer in the making. Loved that scene where he cheekily say “yogi kaji” and smiled. Such a tease this kid, I can’t believe he’s jailbait. I guess I won’t be seeing much of him in this drama though; the ending hinted that it’s headed to the time jump but I know it won’t take long before he’ll be getting his own lead role.

Next on the watch list is the last 6 episodes of I Need Romance 3; I know, I’m way behind on this one but RL is really taking most of my time lately. I’ve read in dramabeans that it has been neatly tied although what I am curious about is that was there even a slight display of “alone time” in the last episodes? I guess I’ll be finding out soon enough.

As I mentioned, I’m watching Bride of the Century and it’s proving to be fun and interesting so far. Of course I am watching it because of Hong Ki and this I have to say he’s doing awesome portraying his role as a “heartless” chaebol while Yang Jin-sung is completely a breath of fresh air as a sunny poor girl from the county. I especially like the ghost, she is something.

So far that’s all I have in my plate. There’s plenty of dramas that came out since the last week of February that it’s overwhelming and I’m still undecided if I am to watch some of them. Personally I am intrigued by Three Days and I also want to start watching Empress Ki but I guess I’ll wait for a bit; my time is still limited. I would greatly appreciate and love suggestions though, it’s welcomed and I am looking forward to it.

I’m In The Mood For: Lee Hong-ki’s Songs

I’ve been listening to songs by FT Island since morning, because I just can’t get enough of Lee Hong-ki’s voice specially today. His voice is so awesome to my ears it’s illegal, not to mention he looks abso-bloody-lutely adorable it’s ridiculous! I mean how soulful can this be:

Then there’s this too:

Of course some of their songs just wanna make you move it:

There’s also this re-donk-cilous song off the Heirs ost

So yes, I am in the mood for Hong-ki’s and FT Island’s songs, just because I’m giddy and everything else.

My LSS cum Acceptance

Cryptic title right, I think so too but who cares, I’m bad at titles and I know very well about that. Title aside, I’ve been having a battle with myself lately. I’m in denial and I am having this inner struggle if I’m going to accept the truth and be free or just continue hiding in my closet. That thought was processed for a week, yes; I needed a full week to process if I’m going to let you know of my current dilemma and that I have come to accept the inevitable (I just so hope my close friend is not reading right now.)

This is it, the moment of truth. I have an ICOMYM, I know it’s not such a big deal because after all, it’s not as if I am going to go as far as to cross a country to stalk the kid or something, well maybe the web is an enough means of stalking (LOL) still, it’s not so bad (that’s me consoling myself.)

It kind of started a few months ago, while my obsession of Korean Drama was at an all time high that I finish a series after the other; back when I devour one whole series in more or less three days (that is if it’s a 16 episode series) I came across with a particular series with an awesome soundtrack and me being me, I had to download it, it all started there. I noticed the voice right away, it stands out. It has this unexplainable quality that can melt you or break you depending on the melody, but I didn’t really pay much attention because, after all, I haven’t completely embraced K-pop, I was just watching K-dramas (trust me to reason with myself.) Thus, as I said, I didn’t pay attention only to fall deep in the end.

I heard that voice again mid October; he sang one of the songs on the OST of “The Heirs” my official drama crack of the year.  It got me really curious, who is the voice behind the song, who is that guy? I guess everyone knows what a person like me would do in this situation, ask your best friend, I mean everybody’s best friend: Google.

A few clicks and URLs later, I found out who the guy behind the voice was and I was surprised to know that he was one of the actors of that particular series with an awesome soundtrack that I downloaded; and he’s only 23! Well, I brushed that last detail aside. Turns out he’s in a band named F. T. Island as a lead singer. More clicks later, earphones plugged in (I love how dramatic and rebellious it looks) I listened to one song after the other and lo, I was hooked! I think I listened to the band’s song the whole day but I didn’t get tired of it. I can’t explain how appealing his voice is, it’s husky, melodic with angst, and it really stands out, not to mention the songs are actually good, melody and all.

One particular song really hit me hard and I have been singing it in my head for more than a week now and I am admitting that I have a fever, the K-pop fever and the first band that I am into is F. T. Island all because I was hypnotized by Lee Hong Ki’s voice (not to mention his looks) and as I have mentioned, I admit to having an ICOMYM and I guess it’s all fine, there’s nothing so bad about it.

Here’s my current LSS, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do:
