Chapter 4: “Making Time Part 2”
Unexpectedly, they shared the ride to Wooyoung’s place in silence. They just leaned on each other contentedly, held each other’s hands and occasionally brush each other’s hair off their eyes. They were completely absorbed in each other, lost in their own bubble on the backseat.
“Wooyoung-sshi, do you happen to have food at your place, Seyoung-ah hasn’t given much attention to food today. I think you have an idea as to why.” Seyoung’s manager said. “Wooyoung-sshi?” he had to call him again once he turned around and saw what’s happening on the backseat. Seyoung’s manager can’t help but shake his head. These two really, goosebumps inducing, he thought.
“Huh? Hyung? Mianheyo, what were you saying?” asked Wooyoung a bit embarrassed.
“I asked if you have food at your place because Seyoung-ah hasn’t really eaten anything.” Seyoung’s manager replied.
“I don’t think I have anything to eat in there. Should we just grab something on the way? Chicken and pizza, is that okay with you?” Wooyoung said, addressing both Seyoung and her manager.
“That sounds good.” Seyoung said. “Oppa, we’ll have what Wooyoung said. Let’s stop somewhere on the way to buy some.”
“Alright, I know a restaurant after this exit. We’ll stop there,” said Seyoung’s manager. “You can pick up from where you left off.” He added, teasing Seyoung and Wooyoung whose faces turned red automatically.
“Hyung! Oppa!” said the two at the same time to the smiling manager who seems to be remembering his own days as a love sick person.
“Arasso, I’ll shut up now,” said Seyoung’s manager, then made a gesture as if he is zipping his mouth.
“I forgot we’re not alone,” whispered Wooyoung to Seyoung’s ear.
“Me too, like time stopped or something.” Seyoung whispered back. “Let’s talk normally; otherwise Oppa will think we’re doing something here again.”
“Can we actually do something?” Wooyoung whispered, mischief showing in his eyes.
“Yah, are you out of your mind? When have you become such a strange person?” said a blushing Seyoung.
“Mian; you know what, you are so cute whenever your face turns red, I just can’t help but tease you more.”
“You are really getting back at me huh?”
“Yes, yes I am.” He said and pinched her cheeks.
The car stopped at the restaurant and Seyoung’s manager told them to just stay inside, he’s gonna buy their food. They agreed because they don’t want to risk being seen as well. It’s not a good time to be spotted together in public; especially with Wooyoung’s group making a comeback and speculations about their real relationship all over the channels.
Once they got their food, they continued on with their way. They spent the remaining travel time talking to each other and Seyoung’s manager and before long, they reached Wooyoung’s place.
“Gomawoyo, Oppa. I’ll see you tomorrow,” said Seyoung to her manager.
“Kure, don’t forget the time okay.” Her manager replied then turned to Wooyoung, “I’ll leave Seyoung-ie to you now. Please drop her home on time. She has an early shoot tomorrow. Take care you two.”
“Neh, Hyung. Gomawoyo,” Wooyoung replied.
Once Seyoung’s manager left, they made their way to his apartment while holding each other’s hand. The first thing that caught Seyoung’s eyes once they are inside the apartment is the piano located in a corner.
“You have a piano? You said you don’t really know how to play?” she asked Wooyoung.
“Ah, that. I got myself one and I’ve been practicing because you seem to really like a guy who can play the piano well.”
“Chincha? Wow, uri Wooyoung-ie has a really good memory,” Seyoung praised him. “Kurom, will you play for me?”
“Yes, I will play for you but later. Let’s feed you first. Ani, even if you’re uneasy or worried, you shouldn’t skip your meals. You should eat on time.” Wooyoung scolded her.
“Whose fault is it that I didn’t have an appetite all day? Who said you can just stop calling and sending messages like that?” she countered.
“Arasso, jalmothaesseo. Can you forgive me?” he said while holding her hands.
“Feed me first,” she smiled.
“Okay. Let’s go.”
They made their way to his kitchen and in no time, as always they became busy feeding each other. It’s amazing how whenever they see food, it seems like their first thought is to feed the other first before really feeding themselves.
“Honestly, were you really annoyed when I didn’t call or message you for two days? Where you worried?” Wooyoung asked after making her bite on a slice of pizza.
“I was annoyed of course. I really thought that when you gave me that watch, you mean you are giving me time, not all of it but you are giving me time. Then you didn’t call me or send any messages for two days, I thought you were just playing with me,” Seyoung replied honestly.
“No; I was not playing with you; I only wanted to surprise you thus I didn’t call or message you for two days. I’m really sorry,” Wooyoung explained aegyo-ing all the while because he knows Seyoung can’t do anything against it. “And you are right; I gave you that watch with the message that I will make time for you – no matter how busy we may be most of the time.”
“Apology accepted but you’re not yet forgiven,” Seyoung said, pretending annoyance. “I’ll only forgive you completely if you play the piano for me.”
“Arasso, I’m gonna play for you,” said Wooyoung willingly. “What do you want to hear?”
“Anything, just play the piano for me.”
“Okay, your wish is my command, gongju-nim.”
After eating and cleaning up, they went back to his living room where the piano is located.
“Seyoung-ah, can you stand in front where I can see you while I’m playing, please?” asked Wooyoung.
“Alright, as you wish.”
He started playing the intro then looked Seyoung in the eyes as he started to sing while playing:
What will I do without your smart mouth?
Drawing me in, and you kicking me out
You’ve got my head spinning, no kidding, I can’t pin you down
What’s going on in that beautiful mind?
I’m on your magical mystery ride
And I’m so dizzy, don’t know what hit me, but I’ll be alright.
Seyoung is amazed and pleased with his choice of song. It is very meaningful, like he’s bearing himself in front of her, assuring her that she got him under her spell.
My head’s underwater
But I’m breathing fine
You’re crazy and I’m out of my mind
Seyoung thought that she is probably crazy for being in a relationship with him right now but it is fine; she loves this craziness and she loves him. She also thought that he is perhaps out of his mind too, to be with her but he’s fine with it.
‘Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
Give your all to me
I’ll give my all to you
You’re my end and my beginning
Even when I lose I’m winning
‘Cause I give you all of me
And you give me all of you
Wooyoung’s gaze is not leaving Seyoung at all, he wants to make sure that she feels the sincerity he is trying to express through this song that he practiced every single moment he has time to do so. The first time he heard it, all he could think of is this song is for us, this is perfect for me and Seyoung; one day I am gonna play and sing it for her. That day is today.
How many times do I have to tell you?
Even when you’re crying you’re beautiful too
The world is beating you down; I’m around through every mood
You’re my downfall, you’re my muse
My worst distraction, my rhythm and blues
I can’t stop singing; it’s ringing, in my head for you
He wants to let her know that no matter what happens, he’s gonna be around, he’s ready to face anything for and with her. He’s willing to do everything just to be with her, for them to be together.
Give me all of you
Cards on the table, we’re both showing hearts
Risking it all, though it’s hard
As he played the last note, Seyoung approached Wooyoung, teary eyed yet smiling. “That was so beautiful Wooyoung-ah, gomawo,” she said.
“Anything for you Seyoung-ah, always,” he stood up from his seat, pulled Seyoung in a hug and whispered, “Am I forgiven?”
She breaks free from his embrace, looked him in the eyes and smile, “Yes, you are forgiven.”
He smiled and then gently took her face in his both hands and slowly, inch by inch, planted a sweet soft kiss on her lips that Seyoung accepted and responded to wholeheartedly.
I would like to take this part to thank my dear friend Nelly for all her help, for being an awesome proofreader, perhaps the most awesome ever; in my opinion. Thanks Nell.
