Should I cover my face while answering this question, I am somewhere between embarrassed and ashamed especially after I recalled when was the last time that I went to see a movie in an actual theater. But no, I refuse to be embarrassed, I have my reasons, definite and valid ones so please do not judge me, or you can, it’s your right (at this point, I know you have an idea how fickle I can be.)
Enough with the babble and back to the challenge, the question is what was the last movie that I saw in the theater. And since I did state that I refuse to be embarrassed about it, here’s my answer:
The last movie that I saw in the theater is The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 2 that was last November 16, 2012 right after I came back from Oman; it’s more than a year ago now. Is it surprising that I remembered the exact date? Well, it’s because the reason to go to the theater is more of a celebration rather than just plain see the last installment of the Twilight Saga. As I said I came back from Oman, that’s my point of exit, a needed one because it’s not possible to change visa status inside the country anymore.
And so as a celebration, I went out with my gay friends and both of them said they wanted to see a nekkid Jacob Black so off to see Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 2 we went, lo and behold, the kid is indeed nekkid but the scene was too fast for my liking and since we are in the United Arab Emirates, “some of the scenes” were removed, blame it on the censorship and yes, I blame the censorship and it is the main reason why I haven’t been watching anything in the theater lately. I was so not satisfied with what I watched.
Right, there are plenty of people that was not satisfied with the film but at least they saw the action, by that I mean the “steamy” bed scene and many more; they saw the complete film, I had to wait a good three months to watch a clear copy, a complete copy unlike the one that I saw in the theater. I can still remember my reaction when I finally watched the complete version, I felt robbed and I vowed not to watch a movie in the theater again not unless someone would treat me and indeed, I haven’t been to the theater since. I contented myself with watching online and sometimes downloading the movie itself if I really liked it and feel that I might watch it again. It may take sometime before I could watch it but at least it’s complete.
And that is the last movie that I watched in the theater. How about you, what was the last movie you saw in the theater?)
